Gerger Castle (Arsameia Euphrates)

Gerger Castle was built by Samos in 2nd century B.C. on the Western part of the Euphrates, catching the eye with the giant embossment of Samos who was the father of Mitridathes Kallinikos.

Structure groups such as walls and gates were added to the castle during Seljuk and Ottoman periods.

Gerger Castle is known to be the place where the Euphrates is viewed at its best.
